Cinnamon Oat Waffles (High Protein)

Ingredients:
2 ½ cups of old fashioned oats
1 cup water
6 egg whites
1 scoop whey protein powder (vanilla, chocolate, or cinnamon*)

Equipment:
Blender
Waffle Iron

Directions:

  • Blend all the ingredients in a blender until the batter is well mixed
  • Heat waffle iron (coat w/ non-stick spray if iron is not already non-stick)
  • Pour batter into waffle iron, await the beep and enjoy!
  • Get creative serve topped w/ fresh strawberry slices, blueberries, or raspberries!

Makes 12 waffles

Alternatives:
*I like to use BSN’s Lean Dessert Cinnamon Roll Protein Powder, but if you use generic whey protein that is vanilla flavored you can add the following spices for similar results:
2 teaspoons cinnamon 
2 teaspoons nutmeg

**For banana flavor try adding ½ a fresh banana into the blender with the batter!

Tips:

  • These waffles are great right off the griddle, but they can also be frozen and then toasted up for a quick on the go high protein breakfast or snack! Make a stack on Sunday and freeze them up in single serving baggies for the rest of the week!
  • Use a heart shaped waffle iron to start your day with positive loving energy!
